Dermot's Room
Dermot's room caters for babies from 6 months of age. The room is self contained with its own sleep room and separate changing area. We provide care from 8.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
We understand that leaving your baby into a childcare center for the first time can be daunting. With this in mind we encourage parents to avail of our settling in period. During this time you and your baby will get to know Dermot's room educators and we will learn your baby's needs and routine.
We know that a baby's sense of security and trust is directly related to their daily routine. Routine is an excellent example of the benefits achieved when parents and caregivers form a partnership which reinforces your baby's security and trust.
You and your baby will be introduced to your key worker. Your baby's key worker will be the expert in the care of your baby. Each day she will inform you of your baby's day, how he or she slept, the number of nappy changes and all meals and drinks he or she took during the day.
Your key worker will also report on your baby's day and how he or she is adapting to their new surroundings. We try to ensure that our babies have a happy and active environment to grow and thrive in. Security and trust are the foundations for your baby's sense of their own identity.
In Dermot's room our educators encourage your baby's communication skills by talking to them, singing action songs and nursery rhymes and with plenty of smiles, laughter and hugs.
All the materials in Dermot's room encourage your baby's natural curiosity and help to provide further learning experiences.
